“Can we see it before we decide?”

Yes, and you should. Most couples decide standing in the Theatre, not reading a page. Ask for a walkthrough in the form and the team will book one.

“Do you only do big weddings?”

No. The Library and the Lobby Bar work for a short guest list, and the package scales down with it.

“Who do we actually deal with?”

The events team, from the first email to the last guest leaving. Past clients name them in their reviews, which is not an accident.

How many guests can Den 1880 hold for a wedding?
The Theatre seats up to 100 for a ceremony, and opens into the Lobby Bar for up to 140 at a standing reception. A seated dinner with a dance floor uses those same rooms differently, so the working number depends on your table plan. Send your guest count and the events team will show you the layout that fits it.
What is included in a wedding package?
Venue rental, open bar, catering, furniture and rentals, audio and visual, dedicated onsite staff, parking, and the building itself. Custom photo booth, live entertainment and bar enhancements are the optional add-ons.
What does a wedding at Den 1880 cost?
There is no single published number, because a 40-guest Friday and a 130-guest Saturday are not the same job. Pricing is built from your date, your guest count and what you want included. Send those three things through the form and you get a real quote back, usually within one business day.
Can we hold the ceremony and the reception here?
Yes, and most couples do. Ceremony in the Theatre, cocktails in the Lobby Bar while our team turns the room over, then dinner and dancing. No shuttle, no gap, no second address.
Do you do small weddings?
Yes. The Library seats a long table and the Lobby Bar suits a ceremony-and-cocktails evening, so a short guest list gets a room that fits rather than a hall built for two hundred. The package scales with the guest count, not the service level.
Who runs the day?
The Den 1880 events team, from the first email to the last guest leaving. Past clients name them in their reviews — Paige, Hannah, Alysha and Cassie — which is unusual enough to be worth mentioning.
Can we choose the lighting and music?
Yes. The lighting is colour-adjustable and the building runs Sonos throughout, with wireless microphones for the ceremony and speeches. The team will walk through lighting colours and music with you before the day.
Is there parking, and how do guests get here?
Parking is part of the wedding package, and Den 1880 sits on Erb Street West in Uptown Waterloo, a short walk from the LRT and from Uptown hotels and restaurants.
Do we have to bring in furniture or décor?
No. The rooms come with their own furniture and the building is already decorated — original wood, chandeliers, marble, velvet seating. One past couple wrote that the curated décor meant they did not have to bring in a single extra item.
What about food allergies and dietary restrictions?
Menus are built with your chef rather than chosen from a fixed card, so restrictions are handled during planning. Bring them up at the tasting stage and they get designed into the menu.
Can we host the shower or rehearsal dinner here too?
Yes. Bridal showers, engagement parties and rehearsal dinners run in the Library or the Lobby Bar. Ask about them in the same inquiry as the wedding and they get quoted together.
How do we hold a date?
Send an inquiry with your date. The events team confirms whether it is open, walks you through the agreement, and tells you exactly what it takes to lock it in.
Can we see the space before we decide?

Is the building accessible?
The Lobby Bar has accessible washrooms and the venue is on the LRT line in Uptown Waterloo. If anyone in your party has specific access needs, tell the team in your inquiry and they will walk you through the building in detail.
